I’m doing something extremely risky. I’m making public our newest film idea that we have yet to shoot one foot of film for. Working title: It’s Your Wonderful Life! The theme is Life Honoring Celebrations – people who have the courage and foresight to hold public ceremonies for their loved ones before they pass. We did this for my late wife Tracy Seeley. Turned out it was just 12 days before she died. The death and dying that has engulfed us all these last few years necessitate a new cultural meme to benefit us all.
We’re looking for subjects to film. If you yourself or someone you know and love is dying, let us know. Email us at [email protected]; subject line: Life Honoring Celebrations. We can even mentor you as to how to do it, though both my last books lay out the basic roadmap. No one should leave this lifetime without understanding some of the reach of the positive impact they’ve had on others.
Frederick’s Book Club – more good books!
Heart-rending, wise, suffused with equanimity, Patchett’s essays are comprised of personal reflections about the old world we once shared and the new post-Covid one. When I grow up, I want to write like her.
I don’t understand how this book isn’t required of every MKP man on the certification path. Mindell facilitates 1,000s of people at one time at one event. Can you imagine? Building bridges of peace, understanding and acceptance across huge divides of every conceivable difference.
Want to know what every moment transitioning from life to death looks like? Here’s your handbook. This is a breathtaking, inspiring tale of one man’s confrontation with all the fears, desires, and passing preoccupations of his own mind. A model for us all.
This remarkable biography of Charlotte Salomon, who died in Auschwitz at the age of 26, provides a stunning look at her life as a woman, an artist, and a Jew during the Holocaust. “A fugue of art and history, love and pain, sexuality and politics.”–LA Times.
