My Friend Khashyar’s Dalai Lama Film
I happened to watch Khashyar’s film Dalai Lama Awakening a day after the recent massacres in Paris. It was the perfect antidote to the despair and anger I was feeling.
It’s a story about 40 very special, some very bright people, making a trip to Dharmsala to spend a week with the Dalai Lama to examine world problems. Kind of a cross-disciplinary think tank. Read more here…
Checked Out Our New Website?
It’s cleaner and more streamlined with loads of new pics. It includes all the raw interview footage from all the interviews we’ve conducted over the years with leaders in youth rites of passage and mentorship, family and community restoration. I call it the World Wisdom Library… Robert Bly, Michael Meade, Meredith Little, Starhawk, Aqeela Sherrils, Angeles Arrien and many more… Most, but not all of the interviews, are already live!
My recent talk at Google
I gave a so-called “Tech Talk” at the Google Mountain View campus last month called “Living Your Life Purpose.” Check it out.
Giving Tuesday*
Every day is Giving Tuesday for us. We give all we have – films, talks, toolkits and curricula, mentoring and community support – to make this world a better place. If you see the value in our efforts we invite you to give what you can to support us so we can keep on giving.
(* A new traditiion in the U.S. to counter the rampant consumerism of “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday.”)
The amazing film HUMAN
A masterpiece of masterpieces, Human is a FREE documentary film available now on You Tube. I’ve now watched the full extended version – 4.5 hours – twice! (Never fear – shorter versions are available.)
Though comprised only of interviews and landscapes… what interviews, what landscapes! Its utter simplicity is a form ultimately of tremendous grandeur, opening the viewer to all that is real, and therefore beautiful, in this life we call human life, and this planet we call our home.
