Giving Tuesday at Warrior Films: Stories That Heal, Teach, and Transform
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join Warrior Films in supporting projects that use the power of storytelling to bring healing, inspire growth, and deepen our shared humanity. Your generosity directly fuels initiatives that reach veterans, immigrants, marginalized communities, and spiritual seekers — locally and around the world.
Below are four meaningful areas where your donation can be earmarked to make a tangible impact:
Ukraine Project: Veterans Journey Home
Warrior Films has been invited to Ukraine in April 2026 to share our 5-film Veterans Journey Home series with veterans, psychologists, social workers, filmmakers, beleaguered citizens and representatives from the Ukrainian Department of Defense.
In a country scarred by ongoing war, these screenings will offer a rare and vital space for healing, dialogue, and hope. The films explore the invisible wounds of war — PTSD, moral injury, and the long road toward reintegration — reminding us that while conflicts may be geopolitical, the human cost is both universal and deeply personal.
Thank you to all who have already contributed to making this trip possible. And for those who haven’t yet — there is still time to join us. Your support helps cover travel, subtitling, venue coordination, and outreach so these stories can reach those who need them most.
Stay tuned for more updates as this historic journey unfolds.

The Heart of Zen – Expanding a Sanctuary of Stillness
This year, we launched The Heart of Zen, a new meditation instruction and Buddhist learning group in Auburn California. While these weekly gatherings are free for all to attend, currently they’re only available in-person. Our vision is to expand via online live stream – utilizing Frederick’s 37 years of practice and study to reach a wider audience seeking peace, grounding, and clarity.
Our philosophy is simple: whatever works to bring relief, healing, and awakening is good. Always including, of course, humor.
Your support will help fund:
- Live streaming infrastructure
- Online teaching platforms
- Expanded outreach and accessibility

Life-Honoring Celebrations: “It’s Your Wonderful Life”
Our It’s Your Wonderful Life project encourages people everywhere to celebrate their loved ones before they pass. We’ve already filmed five beautiful rituals, including these: a change-making Lakota couple living on the Pine Ridge Reservation where the life expectancy is 47 for men and 52 for women, a 49 year old Christian volunteer for the Honor Flight Network honoring Veterans, an 87 year old Japanese-American Buddhist suffering from Altzheimers, and my own atheist late wife Tracy Seeley who died at 59 from breast cancer.
Your donation helps fund:
- Completion of the inspiring 15 minute short film featuring these stories.
- The 2026 launch of the film to spearhead a worldwide awareness campaign.
Your support will ensure that these deeply personal tributes will catalyze more families to understand that death is not a medical event, it’s a spiritual event, and that facing death and dying enhances living for everyone. Learn more about this project here.

Fellowship & Internship Initiatives for Emerging Filmmakers
Warrior Films is committed to nurturing the next generation of socially conscious storytellers. Building on the foundation of our Documentoring Studio model, our Fellowship and Internship initiatives provide hands-on mentorship, curriculum, and creative support for young filmmakers finding their voice.
This past year, we proudly continued our internship program with a cohort of five talented students from the University of Southern California and Smith College. These emerging artists gained real-world experience in documentary storytelling, production, grassroots marketing, and ethical filmmaking practices.
Your donation will help fund:
- Educational curriculum and workshops
- Mentorship and professional guidance
- Production resources and creative support
By giving to this initiative, you are investing in the future of filmmaking — and ensuring that powerful, purpose-driven stories continue to be told.

Why Giving Tuesday Matters
Non-profit filmmaking isn’t just a career path — it’s a calling. It’s about putting purpose before profit, story before spectacle, passion before proceeds. It’s about using the power of art — cinema and books — not just to entertain, but to awaken.
At Warrior Films, this has been my life’s work: telling stories that stir the heart, challenge the mind, and spark real change.
From Hoop Dreams to Journey From Zanskar, from Boys to Men? to Veterans Journey Home, I’ve sought out voices that too often go unheard — and I’ve tried to listen. What I’ve learned is this: witnessing can be a sacred tool. A mirror. A medicine.
This Giving Tuesday, you have the opportunity to be part of that medicine. To support stories that heal, communities that grow, and lives that transform.
If this mission resonates with you, I invite you to stand with us today. Explore what we’re building at Warrior Films, choose where your gift will go, and help keep these vital stories alive.
Give with purpose. Give with heart. Give this Giving Tuesday.
In service to truth and transformation,

Frederick Marx
Filmmaker. Philosopher. Artist. Fool.
