They assume you’ll be having an experience akin to going to a spa or taking a workshop at a retreat center. They don’t envision you up at 4:30 every day, chanting, meditating, and working hard until 10pm when you gratefully fall into bed. DR. KEERTHY SUNDER – OUR VETS HERO OF THE MONTH
Dr. Sunder is a trailblazer for new modalities in healing. His “Resiliency Challenge” is designed for Vets suffering from PTSD. The program includes guided meditations, journaling, active coaching, a downloadable app for monitoring progress, and more. He also understands how important sharing stories are for Vets so they can experience truly carthartic emotional releases. He’s a good man doing good work for Vets and others.

JOINING THE EAST BAY VETERANS WRITING GROUP
The East Bay Veterans Writing Group, headed by wonderful writer Maxine Hong Kingston, was kind enough to allow me, a non-veteran, to join. This photo was taken at our December retreat, to stand in solidarity with those 200 or more veterans who traveled to Standing Rock to join the pipeline resisters there.
