Our August Vet Supporter of the Month is Amy Blumenshine. Amy is a Diaconal Minister who has been working to address the suffering of veterans and their families. She co-wrote “Welcome Them Home, Help Them Heal”, a manual on how pastors, parish nurses, counselors, and caregivers in churches across the country can provide support and advocacy for veterans and their loved ones. In 2005, Amy formed the Coming Home Collaborative, a volunteer association of people dedicated to improving the re-integration of veterans into their communities with a special emphasis on veterans with moral injury.
