On May 22 we won a Best Documentary Award at the San Diego G.I. Film Festival for On Black Mountain. It was our fourth “Best Doc” award in four months and the 10th for our Veterans series overall! When I accepted the award and told them what our social change plans were they gave me a standing ovation!  You can wait to see the film on PBS or buy it here.

You too could be as happy as Maggie, clutching her copy of Camus’ The Plague, clearly not letting it impact her dreams!

Introducing Frederick’s Book Club!  OK, so I’m not Oprah.  But I thought I would share with you from time to time some of the amazing books that I get to read.

A clear and cogent analysis of the super-memes that drive contemporary thinking that pretty much guarantee worldwide systems collapse, while offering practical solutions for countermanding them.

Extremely rich and moving South African coming-of-age novel weaving some of the best of indigenous wisdom with extensive knowledge of flora and fauna into an initiation story of modern socio-political relevance.

One of the most meaningful and poetic books I’ve read about the necessity for full and ritualized grieving to lay the groundwork for any kind of rational sustainable future.

Droll and unblinking, a memoir geared toward reintroducing the realities of death and dying back into contemporary society to enhance and deepen the appreciation and fulfillment of our own lives.

Looking for something funny?  Good, because I’m looking for you – advance readers for my 3rd book.  It’s my first humor book, designed first, foremost, and last to make people laugh. Though it’s not my first foray into stand-up comedy (that happened way back in college) it might be my first foray into sit-down comedy.  Working title? Turds of Meaning: Funny, real-life stories from an unrepentant rebel Buddhist.

If you’re interested, email us at [email protected], subject line “send me the book!” and we’ll email you a pdf of the latest draft along with a simple questionnaire to help organize your feedback.
